Dušan Svíba was born in Krnov, he grew up in Valašské Meziříčí. He graduated from a woodworking school and worked as a carpenter for a long time. But his professional life is connected with music.
Dušan Svíba started as a musician at the age of fourteen with several bands in Valašské Meziříčí and its surroundings. In the early eighties, he lived in Brno, where he worked as a guitarist and singer in the group Dunaj.
Dušan Svíba is founder and booking agent at Earth Music, the Czech based booking agency established in 2002, active within Central European territory and focused on genres like americana, alt-country, jazz, Balkan or world music. The agency roster includes international artists like Dubioza kolektiv, Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, Orkesta Mendoza, Nive & The Deer Children, NO Blues, Tim Eriksen etc. + Czech artists Zabelov Group, David Pomahač, Terne Čhave or Invisible World.
Dušan is also founder and artistic director of Colour Meeting festival (since 2001).
His hobbies include photography, traveling, carpentry and music.
